Dyson reinvents the fan

James Dyson has been teasing for weeks now about his upcoming product launch, revealing nothing more than saying that he had completely reinvented one household item – Can you guess which one?  The launch of his new “air multiplier” was yesterday and going on its looks alone, it’s pretty snazzy.  His new “fan” has done away with blades and rotors and creates what James Dyson describes as “a gentle breeze” by creating pressure systems and vacuums and then blowing the whole thing through the big ring.  To be honest, I don’t really understand how it all works yet but if it produces anywhere near as much airflow as his vacuum cleaners, he’s onto a winner.  I can’t wait to have a look at one in person.  Read more about it in the Sydney Morning Herald.
